National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association's (NCASA) National Mentoring Program (NMP) will support state and local CASA programs in at least 38 states. The program's ultimate goal is to increase the number of foster youth served and to improve multiple behavioral, educational, life skills, and health outcomes for America's foster youth in communities demonstrating need. The program will accomplish this goal by expanding and strengthening the vital national network of CASA volunteers who address the significant needs detailed above by providing one-on-one mentoring and advocacy to children in foster care. This program will increase the number of CASA volunteers by 2,170 and the number of new foster youth served by 5,820. In addition, the program will enhance mentoring services by implementing one or more research- and evidence-based practice(s).
