Using OJJDP funds, the North Carolina Department of Justice will enhance its detection, investigation, apprehension and prosecution of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation of children by sending one of its investigators to polygraph examination training. This investigator will be teamed with other investigators to conduct on-scene polygraphs. This methodology has been shown to be an effective way to identify hands-on offenders in child pornography investigations. In addition to the polygraph examination training, forensic examiners will receive training from the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) in the area of Basic Data Recovery and Acquisition (BDRA) and Intermediate Data Recovery and Acquisition (IDRA).
