The Office of Justice Grants Administration (JGA) is the District of Columbia's State Administering Agency for the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant (JABG) program. The District of Columbia performs state, county and local government functions; therefore, the District continues to receive a 100 percent waiver of the JABG pass-through requirement to units of local government. The District will focus FY 2012 JABG funding on efforts targeted at increasing accountability of youth behavior and protecting public safety which is at the core of decision making processes instituted by the Court Social Services (CSS), Superior Court/Family Court, and the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS). More specifically, funds will support the following purpose areas: (6) training programs for law enforcement and other court personnel, (11) accountability-based programs designed to reduce recidivism; and, (17) programs to facilitate the successful re-entry of juvenile offender in the community.
