Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $687,127)

The Department of Youth Services (DYS) is the designated state agency responsible for the administration of JABG funding in Ohio. The DYS will pass-through 75% of its FY 2012 JABG funds to units of local government. The 88 county juvenile courts have primary responsibility for administering juvenile justice at the local level. Activities that will be implemented to achieve the project goals and objectives include establishing, improving, and coordinating pre-release and post-release systems and programs to facilitate the successful reentry of juvenile offenders from state or local custody in to the community. Funding available for state purposes will be used to provide programs and services for youth within DYS facilities and youth on parole. NCA/NCF
