Reclaiming Futures - Federal Sites
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
OJJDP's Juvenile Justice System Improvement Grants program was established to provide grants and cooperative agreements to organizations that provide programs and services critical to the mission of OJJDP, and organizations that OJJDP has selected for funds in prior years. This program will be authorized by an Act appropriating funds for the Department of Justice.
The Reclaiming Futures National Program Office (NPO) is applying for continuation funding to manage training and technical assistance for OJJDP funded Reclaiming Futures/Juvenile Drug Court sites. Reclaiming Futures is a unique model that assists communities in helping teens overcome drugs, alcohol, and crime. The NPO will continue to provide coaching services, trainings, opportunities for peer learning, as well as access to resources developed specifically to facilitate implementation of the Reclaiming Futures model. Implementation of the model will result in increased screening and assessment of youth with evidence based tools, referral to the appropriate type of treatment and for the appropriate duration of time, and increased youth development opportunities and community involvement. The Reclaiming Futures implementation index will measure the extent of site implementation. Using the implementation index, a baseline will be established for each site and will be remeasured every six months. The expectation is that there will be an increase in the level of implementation over time, and that corresponding improvements in outcomes will be measured through the GAIN data each site will be submitting and in the outcome data collected by the University of Arizona evaluation team.
