The Title V Community Prevention Grants Program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system. The Juvenile Justice Authority (JJA) administers Kansas' Title V Community Prevention Grant award. JJA will utilize funding to support the following five community-based prevention programs: Big Brothers and Big Sisters male mentor recruitment program located in Butler County; Big Brothers Big Sisters expansion program located in Nemaha County; Episcopal Social Services Aggression Replacement Training Family component located in Sedgwick County; and Strengthening Families program located in Cowley County. The Kansas State Advisory Group is committed to continue supporting these five programs for three years. Assuming satisfactory performance they will be funded at 75% in year two (FY 2012) and 50% in year three (FY 2013). NCA/NCF
