Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $50,000)
The Title V Community Prevention Grants Program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.
The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services will conduct a competitive process and give priority to applications that demonstrate the ability to develop data-driven prevention plans and employ evidence-based strategies. All potential applicants are apprised of the OJJDP model programs database as well as other sources of information about model programs. All sub-grantees that receive funding have been certified compliant with the four core requirements of the JJDP Act, 2002.
