Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $30,000)

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) is the nation's premier organization serving the needs of our anti-drug community coalitions across the country. Each year, CADCA hosts its signature event, the National Leadership Forum, which is the nation's largest training conference for community anti-drug coalitions and other substance abuse and mental health professionals. In 2012, CADCA will host and conduct the 22nd Forum at at the National Harbor in Maryland with support from Federal, State, and private sector sponsors to an audience of thousands of drug abuse prevention specialists, officials and youth-serving organizations from all around the country. CADCA's annual National Leadership Forum will assist community anti-drug coalitions by providing them with information on best practices and research-based models to increase their local capacity and to improve their ability to obtain successful outcomes for youth. Because research indicates that anti-drug efforts may lead to significant reductions in juvenile crime, support of CADCA's Forum and other anti-drug efforts are consistent with delinquency prevention objectives.
