Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
OJJDP's Demonstration Programs Continuation Grants program was established to provide grants and cooperative agreements to organizations that OJJDP has selected for funds in prior years. This program will be authorized by an Act appropriating funds for the Department of Justice.
The Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps proposes to utilize a four phase technical assistance framework that has been developed through the support of the MacArthur Foundation and the Models for Change: System Reform in Juvenile Justice (MfC) initiative. This framework is to provide training and consultation to state and local juvenile justice, child welfare, and other relevant youth-serving organizations and agencies to positively impact outcomes for these disadvantaged youth. The project will result in improved multi-disciplinary policies and practices impacting youth with prior histories in the dependency system that are entering the juvenile justice system. These improvements will assist the field and OJJDP in advancing the goals first established in the re-authorized Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 2002 and the Child Abuse and Treatment Prevention Act of 2003, as amended, goals focused on the strengthening of programs and services that cross over various systems of care.
