Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $300,000)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

Guam's Department of Youth Affairs (DYA) will continue funding public advertising campaigns, youth/statewide task forces, and innovative programs to prevent and combat underage drinking. The following activities will be implemented with EUDL funds: 1) support and sponsor One Nation's Alcohol Free Social Marketing Campaign activities and extend the One Nation campaign to the outer islands as a Pacific Island Campaign pledging to live a healthy and alcohol- free lifestyle; 2) maintain and enhance membership of the EUDL Task Force consisting of both youth and adults; and, 3) continue the implementation of Compliance Checks and other Enforcement activities.
