Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security/Highway Safety Division FFY 2011 Enforcement of Underage Drinking Laws project.

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
Massachusetts' Executive Office of Public Safety and Security's (EOPSS) Highway Safety Division (HSD), will utilize funding to support the efforts of communities to reduce and prevent underage drinking through targeted compliance enforcement operations. Specifically, EOPSS-HSD will identify and fund a select number of local and campus police law enforcement agencies that will conduct a variety of underage drinking enforcement operations based on data and best practices. Additionally, the State will provide funding to the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) for a Liquor Enforcement Program based on data and best practices. EOPSS-HSD will also continue to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including underage drinking prevention advocacy organizations, community safety groups, citizens, State and local police departments, and complementary State and federal agencies.
