Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $300,000)
The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
The Governor's Office of Planning and Budget will utilize EUDL funds to continue to support and enhance Statewide efforts to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages and consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. Specifically, the State will use funds to support Statewide compliance checks by the Department of Revenue Enforcement and Control Division's Underage Alcohol Investigative Group, sponsor Statewide media campaigns on underage drinking, enhance the Department of Revenue's compliance checks, and implement new EUDL initiatives targeting Georgia's middle and high school youth.
