Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $300,000)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

The Mississippi Division of Public Safety Planning will utilize their FY 2011 EUDL program funds to assist law enforcement agencies, coalitions, task forces, schools and universities, and other innovative programs to reduce underage alcohol consumption and alcohol related motor vehicle crashes, increase enforcement, enhance educational efforts and awareness through active enforcement, public advertising and other innovative methods. EUDL efforts will continue to focus on and serve youth as well as parents, units of State and local government, non-profit organizations, schools, and communities throughout the State of Mississippi.
