The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
Colorado's EUDL supplement for 2013/14 will continue statewide enforcement, underage drinking enforcement training and coordination between law enforcement agencies. The Liquor Enforcement Division (LED) will continue to focus on reducing the availability of alcohol to minors, changing social norms, and boosting public and institutional support for underage drinking law enforcement.
Specifically:
1. Enforcing underage drinking laws statewide through enforcement by LED investigators, conducting operations on its own initiative and in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.
2. Maintaining and improving professional standards by providing training and assistance to local law enforcement agencies and by training LED investigators.
3. Purchasing needed equipment to enhance enforcement efforts and efficiency.
