Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $300,000)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

The Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands Criminal Justice Planning Agency plans to continue funding underage drinking enforcement efforts throughout the Island by implementing the following activities: statewide task forces, innovative programs, and public advertising campaigns. The following government agencies will receive funding to support EUDL activities and programs: the Department of Public Safety, the Attorney General's Office, the Juvenile Prosecutor, and the Department of Commerce, Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco Control Division.
