Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $300,000)
The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
Rhode Island's Department of Mental Health Retardation And Hospitals plans to provide EUDL funds to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving to administer and implement EUDL activities, including the statewide EUDL Advisory Committee, the Youth Advisory Committee, providing technical assistance and training to state and local law enforcement agencies, and developing/promoting public education campaigns to increase public knowledge of the consequences of underage alcohol use. Funds will also be provided to local law enforcement agencies to collect data for the annual alcohol purchase survey, as well as for enforcement activities. NCA/NCF
