Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $300,000)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, will support the following EUDL programs and activities: a) Enforcement - Compliance Checks; Minor Patrols, Concert Details; Source Investigation Project; Law Enforcement Trainings on Controlled Party Dispersals, False ID Recognition Training, Project Same P.A.G.E. (PA Alcohol Guidelines for Enforcement); TOT for college and community leaders on Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention of College Students (BASICS); Reconstructing Norms: Preventing Alcohol Related Sexual Assault on College Campus; and/or Alcohol is a Weapon; b) Coalitions -Statewide Underage Drinking Task Force; Evaluation of Youth Task Forces, Statewide and Regional Conferences; and c) Media & public service announcements; toll free underage drinking hotline; and dissemination of underage drinking literature. OJJDP's State and Community Development Awards program was established to provide grants and cooperative agreements to organizations that OJJDP has selected for funds in prior years. This program has been authorized by an Act appropriating funds for the Department of Justice.

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

Pennsylvania's 2013 Supplemental EUDL Initiative funding will support and enhance the efforts of state and local jurisdictions to prohibit the purchase, sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. This Initiative will assist the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) in the administration of the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) throughout the state. Statewide implementation of the PAYS falls under the EUDL Program Area 4: Education, Training, and Other Activities. NCA/NCF
