FY 2010 Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force National Training Program: Specialized Investigative Techniques

This program is funded under the authority of the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats to Our Children Act of 2008, (42 USC 17611-17617, et seq.) (The PROTECT Act). The National Forensic Science Technology Center and the High Tech Crime Institute (HTCI) will support the continuation, expansion and enhancement of the ICAC Task Forces Training program with HTCI's fully developed Cell Phone and Portable Storage Forensic Training curriculum, which has already trained hundreds of law enforcement personnel. This instructor-led, hands-on class is designed for entry-level practitioners of digital forensics and consists of 24 hours of training. The course is designed to provide investigators with the proper tools, skills and techniques needed to seize and investigate cell phones and portable media storage devices.
