This program is funded under the authority of the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats to Our Children Act of 2008, (42 USC 17601-17611, et seq.)(the PROTECT Act).

The Alameda County District Attorney's Office (ACDAO) Human Exploitation and
Trafficking (HEAT) Watch Program will provide comprehensive training and technical assistance as well as program linkages in order to identify children at risk or involved in CSE; the coordination of links with essential services for Bay Area CSE victims; the effective investigation and prosecution of exploiters; and development of a replicable best practice model for regional and national law enforcement response for the commercial sexual exploitation of children. Proposed program outcomes include identifying of 600 CSE youth, and decreasing their risk of victimization by 50% while also increasing by 50% their participation in efforts to investigate and prosecute their exploiters.
