This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.

The Division of Public Safety Planning (DPSP) is the designated State agency to receive Title V funds in the State of Mississippi. It is estimated that the Mississippi State Advisory Group (SAG) will select at least two (2) subgrantees to utilize the FY 2010 Title V allocation. This funding will only be available to those jurisdictions that have completed the comprehensive community delinquency prevention planning training process. Under the State's FY 2010 RFP and grant award process, all applicants will be required to select promising prevention programs for implementation.
