This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.
The Justice Grants Administration will continue its partnership with Fair Chance, a local non-profit organization in the District, to provide support for up to six (6) community-based organizations that currently work with at-risk youth to provide resources to enhance or expand current program operations and achieve improved outcome for at-risk youth in eight areas: strategic planning, fundraising, fiscal management, board development, leadership development, program evaluation, human resources, and communications and outreach. In addition, sub-recipients will use funding to help prevent and divert at-risk youth from involvement with the Family Court. NCA/NCF
