The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.
The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area's Education Center teaches life skills, SMART Girls, SMART Moves, Scholar Dollars, trivia games, educational worksheets, educational computer games, financial responsibilities, and most importantly provides homework help. The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area will utilize funds to upgrade technology and provide much needed transportation from local schools to the Boys & Girls Club. The program targets youth in kindergarten through eighth grade. The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area will provide required performance measures information to OJJDP.
