The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Wil & Grundy Counties (BB/BS) will deliver one-to-one mentoring services to 80 additional youth, and sustain this growth beyond a two-year grant period. The youth to be served will be from Will and Grundy Counties, Illinois. BB/BS will enroll mentors and children following a proven mentoring model. Mentors and youth will then be paired one-on-one and engage in weekly activities for a period to exceed 12 months in an effort to foster developmental relationships to ultimately achieve prescriptive results.
