Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $350,000)
The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.
With OJJDP funding, the Standing Rock River Sioux Tribe will establish an adolescent shelter for runaway, intoxicated and delinquent youth, when alternative placements are not available or appropriate. Over 24 months, the Standing Rock Child Protective Services will identify and secure an appropriate facility to serve as the adolescent shelter, hire and train a shelter director and two youth workers to oversee operation of the facility, and purchase supplies and materials needed to equip the adolescent shelter.
