Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $100,000)

The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.

The City of Pawtucket is committed to the development and enhancement of programs centered on improving the quality of life and educational opportunities for its youth. This collaborative focuses on the enrichment of edification and the reduction of crimes and vices that have a negative impact on the quality of life in urban neighborhoods. The grant funds through this program will be utilized to fund the following: (1) Boys and Girls Club after school tutoring program, (2) Cape Verdean American Cultural Development (C.A.C.D) English as a second language (ESL) and cultural development, (3) Pawtucket Youth Board anti-violence community/police panel, (4) Pawtucket Police Anti-Violence Bike Patrol, (5) Pawtucket Police Alcohol Compliance Task Force, and (6) Pawtucket Police Tobacco Compliance Task Force.
