The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.
The mission of the First Gethsemane Center for Family Development, Inc. is to partner with government, business, and civic leaders to reduce the barriers of success, by providing quality facilities, services, and programs to individuals and families in their communities. This will be done through economic empowerment, and educational, social, and recreational activities. The First Gethsemane Center for Family Development, Inc.'s funds will support the Serving Our Community Project. This project strives to reduce barriers of success for at at-risk communities by offering programs such as, a child development center, recreation, tutoring, seminars, daycare, Team Kid, and youth spring and summer camps. The target population includes youth ages 0-17. The performance measures will focus on truancy, crime rates and child poverty. This is a faith based initiative. NCA/NCF
