Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $500,000)

The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.

Olive Crest's Push for Permanence Independent Living Program is aimed at lowering child welfare costs while achieving better outcomes for children and families. Push for Permanence focuses on two particular areas of concern in the current child welfare arena: 1) Providing youth with the critical living skills required to transition into a sustainable adulthood and, 2) Diverting and preventing young people from the child welfare system.
