The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.

The WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program provides education to schools and parents about the importance of a father's involvement in education. WATCH D.O.G.S provides training to adult male role models to volunteer at school and work along-side educators during the school day. This program strengthens the school's educational environment through the mentoring and encouraging of students. The program's goal is the serve students attending public elementary and secondary schools across the nation by implementing 2,000 WATCH D.O.G.S. programs. This funding will enable the organization to: 1) actively seek invitations to, and attend, national, state and local educational conferences in order to provide training for implementation of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program; 2) provide regional WATCH D.O.G.S. representatives to support the schools as they implement the WATCH D.O.G.S. program; and 3) provide training and support to the schools from the national WATCH D.O.G.S. office.
