Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $356,400)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
Department of Youth Affairs (DYA) will continue funding public advertising campaigns, youth/statewide task forces, and innovative programs to prevent and combat underage drinking. The following activities will be implemented for this project fiscal year: 1) One Nation ' Alcohol Free Campaign media outreach (a counter advertising approach to the Bud Nation Campaign); 2) Various awareness activities that educate the public on the effects of the consumption of alcohol; 3) Sponsorship of various youth conferences and community events that aims to promote awareness and education on all issues relative to underage drinking and the laws on Guam.
