Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $356,400)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

The EUDL Program supports a comprehensive approach, research based strategy reducing youth access to alcohol. Enforcement, education, and community task force activities are utilized, and strong partnerships of state agencies. WisDOT is designated to administer the EUDL program. Enforcement agencies undertake special campaign to reduce youth access, while community coalitions engage in prevention based programs, media campaigns including 'Parents That Host' approaches.

Funding is partnered with other local funding for training to standardize compliance check operations statewide and address all underage drinking.
