Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $356,400)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

Nebraska will facilitate, via collaborative partners, a Statewide Underage Drinking Prevention Task Force, youth alcohol enforcement efforts, public education targeting adults about the criminal and civil penalties of providing alcohol to minors, and other innovative prevention efforts. The State will also fund activities in eleven counties with the goals of decreasing youths' access to alcohol and the rate of underage drinking and related injury; activities include but are not limited to: enforcement and collaboration, media advocacy, policy initiatives, education and awareness, and youth leadership.
