Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $275,000)

Using OJJDP funds, the Girls Educational and Mentoring Services (GEMS) will provide training and technical assistance to increase and improve the capacity of communities to develop and implement programs and services for commercially sexually exploited and domestically trafficked youth. GEMS will provide these services to the three communities receiving funds through OJJDP's Improving Community Response to the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children program.
