Support local efforts to reducing risk factors for juvenile delinquency and to enhance protective factors to prevent youth at risk from entering the juvenile justice system.

This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.

The Department of Youth Affairs plans to fund Program Area #9 which will support community efforts in establishing appropriate prevention programs needed for youth in the community.
