OJJDP FY 2009 Title V Community Prevention Grants Program

This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.

Virginia will issue a solicitation for intervention and prevention programs in conjunction with the Title II Formula Grant funds including focusing on the following program areas: Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC), early intervention, truancy, diversion, Alternatives to Detention (ATD),and increasing family involvement.
