Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $33,486)
This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.
The Department of Family Services is the designated State agency to receive Title V funds in the State of Wyoming. The Department anticipates awarding up to 6 sub-grants with fiscal year 2010 funds and unused funds from prior years that could not be obligated as a result of the State's historical failure to comply with the Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) core requirement. Currently, 6 Wyoming counties are compliant with the Act's core requirements and are eligible for Title V funding. The State will solicit applicants seeking to increase organizational and system capacity to identify and address their community's issues with DMC.
