Title V Kansas Community Prevention Grants

This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.

Specifically, the State of Kansas anticipates funding one continuation grant to support the Teen Court program and one new award for a multiple strategy delinquency prevention project 'Opportunities for Success' in FY 2009. Sub-grantees must meet the requirements set forth in 42 U.S.C. Section 5783(b) of the JJDP Act of 2002, and Kansas shall give priority in funding to applicants that demonstrate the ability to develop data-driven prevention plans and employ evidence-based strategies.
