The OJJDP FY 09 Earmarks Programs further the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Explanatory Statement Regarding H.R. 1105 (Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009), 155 Cong. Rec. H1653 (daily ed. Feb. 23, 2009) (statement by Rep. Obey, Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations of the House).

The Bronx Cluster of Settlement Houses is a membership organization created to strengthen collaborations among other settlement houses throughout the Bronx. This effort will help provide a unified approach to the provision of social services specifically for those families that are economically disadvantaged but are important to the fabric of the Bronx culture. The goals of this grant are: Increased opportunities for participation, positive peer group activities and norms, community service and pro-social activities, relationships with supportive adults in the community and outside family, improved, academic skills, and enhanced college preparation skills.
