Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $300,000)

Through the Edward Byrne Memorial Congressionally Recommended Awards program, the Office of Justice Programs helps communities improve the capacity of local justice systems and supports training and technical assistance programs and other efforts that strategically target local needs. This program is authorized to organizations identified in the Text and Joint Explanatory Statement, Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009.

Training law enforcement personnel on investigative techniques to identify, target and convict predators is a priority for the Wyoming Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Using OJJDP funds, the Wyoming ICAC will continue to enhance the development, implementation of and training of Operation Fairplay investigative techniques.

This funding will support critical efforts by providing equipment, training, investigative support, public awareness and education, and the coordination of efforts of all participating agencies.
