Through the Edward Byrne Memorial Congressionally Recommended Awards program, the Office of Justice Programs helps communities improve the capacity of local justice systems and supports training and technical assistance programs and other efforts that strategically target local needs. This program is authorized to organizations identified in the Text and Joint Explanatory Statement, Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009.
During the two year project period, the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Fox Valley Child Advocacy Center will utilize OJJDP funds to cover personnel costs associated with a new Forensic Interviewer and Outpatient Health Tech positions. The additional staffing will help improve services to children and families served by the Center by increasing the number of forensic interviews conducted and improving the collaborative investigation process in Winnebago, Calumet and Outagamie Counties.
