Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $399,686)
OJJDP's Family Drug Court Training and Technical Assistance Program supports training and technical assistance that helps states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments build the capacity to develop, maintain, and enhance drug courts for substance-abusing adults who are involved with the family court due to child abuse and/or neglect issues.
The Center for Children and Family Futures (CCFF) offers a comprehensive Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Program that builds on its extensive experience in this arena. Important program features include TTA on key components of Family Drug Court (FDC) success: cross-system collaboration; implementing policies and procedures; staff training and development; and evaluation and sustainability. CCFF's mission is to improve outcomes for children and families by providing TTA that develops, maintains, and enhances family drug courts. This will be accomplished by implementing a thorough needs assessment, providing recommendations for a TTA strategy, and creating three virtual learning communities for start-up, implementation, and expansion of FDCs, responding to their varying capacities and stages. The TTA program will be integrated and leveraged with the on-going TTA infrastructure of CCFF. The measures of effectiveness for this effort will be collected via CCFF's web-based TA Tracker system and include percentages of on-time deliverables, feedback from users of the materials on their learning, skills, and utility of the TTA products, as well OJJDP's customer satisfaction.
