Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $360,000)
The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
Specifically, the State of New Jersey intends to utilize EUDL funds to implement a multi-faceted approach to combating underage drinking in New Jersey. The program seeks to continue the long-term effective working relationships with prevention groups, law enforcement agencies, community and governmental organizations, and the education community. This will be accomplished through Cops in Shop program, Undercover law enforcement operations, Fatal Vision Goggles program, support of the public awareness campaign, 'Parents Who Host, Lose the Most', as well as the creation of other radio PSAs, Annual Dangers of Underage Drinking Billboard/Calendar Initiative, and alcohol-free college/university sponsored events.
