Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $360,000)

The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

The State of Nevada will subgrant the EUDL funds to the Central Lyon Youth Coalition to operate as the fiscal and project oversight agency. Funds will be used for law enforcement subgrants given to the state certified preventin coalitions in the northern part of the State. In the southern region the funds will go directly to local law enforcement agencies. Funds will also be used for general prevention and envionmental strategies.
