Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $400,000)

Robinson Rancheria of Pomo Indians in Lake County, CA, will provide interventions and mental health services for approximately 260 court-involved tribal youth aged 8 to 17 years. Through a year-round, tribal/county multi-agency collaboration, the tribe will provide culture specific, family-focused interventions and and mental health program services for court-involved tribal youth. The project will implement a collaborative tribal/county/state approach through graduated sanctions, restitution, and diversion programming and will provide referral and placement services to assist youth in acquiring job skills and higher education. The 'Pathways' program is a culturally appropriate, family involved, community-developed comprehensive treatment model. In addition, a partnership with 'Sunrise Youth Homes' will provide crisis interventions, structured transitional care, and therapeutic counseling services for co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. The tribe will report on OJJDP's mandatory Tribal Youth Program performance measures. CA/NCF
