The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California plans to provide community-based, prevention services to impact risk factors for delinquency in at least 80 juveniles aged 10-18 years annually. Program goals include: changing the attitudes of parents and youth regarding the importance of education and their relationships with educational personnel; reducing truancy, improving graduation rates, decreasing school dropouts; improving the collaboration and cooperation of all Washoe youth services programs through a centralized staff initiative and hiring of a Tribal Youth Program Manager.
