The goals of the Interagency Gang Prevention Collaborative (IGPC) are aligned with and build upon those of Oakland's Measure Y Violence Prevention and Public Safety Act of 2004. The grantee proposes to focus OJJDP support on: 1) enhancing coordination between community policing, school-based, community-based, and countywide strategies in Oakland; 2) the various oversight and organizing councils involved in the city's gang prevention plan; and 3) building capacity among the various stakeholder groups to effectively reduce and prevent gang activity in Oakland.
