Minneapolis Gang Prevention and Intervention Initiative

The program's approach will focus on secondary and tertiary prevention, meaning that these youth will either be at high risk or will have had previous involvement with the Juvenile Justice System. A key role for the Gang Prevention Coordinator will be to coordinate the development and implementation of a re-entry protocol tailored to the needs of youth on the fringe of gang involvement and 'jumped-in' youth. The development and implementation of this protocol will take place in collaboration with other gang-related efforts, the project Steering Committee, and other agency partners in preventing gang violence.
