The Chippewa Cree Tribal Business Council passed a resolution on June 11, 2008 authorizing the submission and demonstrating support of this application for funding to OJJDP. The proposed Rocky Boy's Children's Court Enhancement Project falls under TYP JADG Program Purpose Area 11, 'Establishing and maintaining accountability-based program designed to reduce recidivism among juveniles who are referred by law enforcement personnel or agencies.' The setting for this project is the Chippewa Cree Tribal Court. The juveniles served under this project will range in age from 12-17 years. Rocky Boy's Children's Court Enhancement Project will serve 80 juveniles per year for a total of 240 juveniles over the 3 year project period. The Rocky Boy's Children's Court Enhancement Project will enhance and strengthen the tribal juvenile justice system and promote public safety by establishing accountability-based programming designed to reduce recidivism among juveniles and will provide assessment and screening, facilitation of evidence based programming, case management and compliance oversight for at least eighty (80) participants per year. The Chippewa Cree tribal government structure consists of an elected 9-member body (8 representatives and 1 chairman), Business Council Representatives, serving staggered 4 year terms. CA/NCF
