The Nez Perce Tribe OJJDP Earmark Program seeks to provide increased prevention and pntervention strategies and services that address abuse and neglect to better meet the needs of children and families in our community. This will occur by providing trainings at least twice a year, designating a staff person to provide 100% of time to mentoring and conducting thorough investigations within seventy-two hours. Mentoring will be provided to current and at-risk children on a monthly basis. Safety of the children will remain a top priority by utilizing the Nez Perce Tribal Children's Home, but always seeking to prevent removal and reunification of families in the least restrictive environment.
