This application is the reobligation of award number 2008-JL-FX-0021. Award number 2008 had to be closed out and deobligated due to a grantee error on their vendor number when they submitted their application. The purpose of the Colorado Schools Safety Program: Safe Communities-Safe Schools (CSSP:SCSS) is to increase safety in Colorado schools by providing schools with violence prevention planning, programming, training, technical assistance and other resources. The CSSP: SCSS prevention resources will be available in one central location and easily accessible by school administrators, parents, youth and others with questions and concerns about school safety and violence prevention. All K-12 schools in Colorado will be eligible to access this information, training and technical assistance on school violence prevention from the CSSP: SCSS. The goals of the program are: provide school violence prevention planning; promoting evidence-based violence prevention programming; improve resources available to schools to help prevent school violence; provide violence prevention and safe school resources and provide training and technical assistance on the topics of violence prevention programming and emergency response and crisis management. Performance will be measured by the number of violence prevention trainings conducted; the reduction of violence related incidences in the schools and the number of fact sheets and publications developed relating to violence prevention.
