Tennessee Healthy Communities-Healthy Youth (THCHY) in partnership with the Search Institute assists Middle Tennessee communities in building developmental assets as a strategy for boosting student achievement, reducing risky behavior and helping youth thrive. THCHY will conduct outreach and trainings, and provide resources to schools, youth-serving agencies and YMCAs. The YMCA of Middle Tennessee's Center for Asset Development Director will serve as the THCHY Project Director. The Center for Asset Development (CAD) will work primarily in the targeted service area of Middle Tennessee, capturing best practices in asset-building and promoting asset building throughout the community as a key strategy for positive youth development. The program aims to train, or reach at least half of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee teen program staff along with staff from eight additional agencies, both youth-serving and schools. NCA/NCF
